Who will be my contact with Half Price Staff?

  You will have your own service manager. This person will be the person you call with any questions or issues. They will get to know you and your office needs to ensure that you are getting maximum value from your involvement with Half Price Staff.

You will also have a second/back-up service manager, who will be the person in contact with you if your usual manager is absent or uncontactable for any eason. Your service manager may direct other people to be in contact with you for specialist questions such as some IT questions or accounts queiries if the need arises.

Will my Half Price Staff member be as efficient as my in office staff?

At first you may think that an employee telecommuting from their home office may not be as effective as an employee who is sitting in your office. You might end up being surprised at what you find.  Our experience has shown us that often times you will find your telecommuting employee can be more efficient than your in office staff.

You Half Price Staff member does not have all the in office distractions that your office staff have. They experience less interruptions, less office chat to get involved in, less random matters that arise in the office that need doing such as deliveries, photocopier needing paper, customers dropping in and the list goes on. Your staffer is also closely monitored to ensure they are working on your highest priorities and working efficiently.

Once your Staffer gets up to speed on the tasks you require and how your business operates we are confident you will be very happy with their effectiveness.

Occasionally, as in the world of in office positons, someone might not work out for your business. We handle these situations swiftly if they occur, and replace the Staffer immediately with someone else of your choosing.

Will the quality of work completed by my Half Price Staffer be as good as if I hired someone in office?

  Generally Yes. We aim to provide the very best staff possible for your business. Once your Staffer has been 'shown the ropes' and had some time to get into the swing of things in your office, as all new staff would, we expect that the quality of work completed would be equal to that of in office staff.

Part of the success experienced in this area comes from which tasks you choose for your Half Price Staffer and whether those tasks make good sense to be completed remotely. A little thought and planning will ensure this. We expect that the quality of work provided to you will be equal to in office staff at less than half the price.

Can I put my Half Price Staffer on our website as one of our team?

  Yes you can. You can consider your Half Price Staffer as any other of your permanent staff in this regard.

Can I give my Half Price Staffer an email address under our office email domain address?

  Yes you can. You can provide an email address that reads as from your office and it will then be bounced to your staffers Half Price Staff email. This means any emails your staffer sends will have the email address that your office provides on it, this is the same as with your current 'in office' staff.

I would like to hire two or more Half Price Staffers for my business. How should I go about this?

  This does really depend on your business and such things as will the staff all be working in the same function or be assigned different offices. We usually recommend starting no more than 2 staffers at a time to get the process smoothed out and they can then help in getting the other Staffers up and running.

However each situation is different and the best way to work on this is to make a time to speak to us personally so we can help develop the best strategy for your specific circumstances.

What happens if the internet goes down and we are out of contact? 

This, as we all know can happen anywhere from time to time.  We do ensure that our Half Price Staffers have strong internet access.  If a situation occurs where either your office connection or your Half Price Staffers connection goes down, we advise that a set of instructions are agreed on that instruct your staffer on what you want them to work on in such a circumstance.

There is often a number of things that can be worked on 'offline' that can be sent through once the connection is back up.  If either of you is offline for an extended period we can help you come up with a solution for the circumstance.

What if there is a blackout? 

Blackouts are known to happen, but are of course, rare. We will guide you on what to put forward to be done in case of a blackout at your office or your Half Price Staffers office. Blackouts can be more common in The Philippines than your office, however they are still generally rare and short enough as to not cause a problem.

Can my Half Price Staffer come and work in my office here? 

No they can not. The process for obtaining work permits and immigration processes are complex and expensive and not something we do.

We are not IT people, will the systems be easy to set up and use?

  Yes they will, we will be there every step of the way. We do nearly all of the setting up for you anyway. We aim to use the simplest systems that do the job. We will 'help, do it' during the set up phase. We try to use wherever possible functions you may already be familiar with, such as skype.

For other elements and services we keep it all user friendly. When there are complex elements involved, we make sure we run all those bits behind the scenes! Again, our goal is to make your business life easier and more profitable, not more complicated.

I think my Half Price Staffer is fantastic and I would like them to be recognised for their great efforts. How can I do this? 

Direct recognition from yourself or an acknowledgement from a superior in the organisation is highly valued. If your Half Price Staffer is doing a great job then we would love to know about it so we can acknowledge them as well. We also have in house awards that we can nominate your Staffer for in recognition of their work.

I would like to give my Staffer a Bonus or a Gift, how do I go about this? 

We ask that you do not send your Half Price Staffer gifts in the post. However if you would like to give a small bonus for a job well done, a thank you or as a gift then we can help you with that. Just let us know that you would like to give a bonus, and we will give you instructions on depositing the funds. We will then transfer the amount in full when the next monthly salary payment is made to your Staffer. Making the payment at that time means that international transfer fees are avoided so your Staffer can receive the full bonus amount.

Bonuses are in no way expected, however they are highly appreciated and can be extremely motivating.

Why do we like to hire staff from the Philippines? 

We find Filipino staff a great fit. English is a 'dual' language of the Philippines, this means a large number of people with excellent English. The education standards are also very high, experienced staff with university degrees are plentiful. We find that of the Asian nations with a suitable workforce that the Philippines has a culture most silimlar to Western countires which helps things run smoothly from the start.

We find Filipino staff are very keen to learn and do a good job, they are loyal, friendly and easy to get on with. They will be an asset to your business.

We like to hire staff with strong administrative backgrounds, with degrees or backgrounds in Business, Accounting or Law. Such skills, training and background make for someone who can learn fast and make a real difference. You may find your Half Price Staffer among your most qualified staff.

  No, you do not.

Does Half Price Staff offer a service where for a fee you will just find me suitable candidates that I then deal with directly?

  No we do not offer such a service. At Half Price Staff we offer our Staffer above industry conditions and we aim to look after our staff very well. We care for our staff and want great futures for them. We can not provide this to a candidate that we refer on to an employer directly, nor can we offer the benefits that we as an organisation provide to staff. Essentially, the great staff we find, we want to employ ourselves to serve our clients.

What happens if my Half Price Staffer needs to take sick days?

  We all get sick and sometimes need to take sick days. If your Staffer becomes unwell and is not able to work, the standard proceedure is that they will let you know immediately that they are unwell and will not be able to work that day, they will then contact us. From that point on we will monitor their health situation and keep you informed on their progress.

We will let you know by the end of each work day of if your Staffer is expected to be fit for work the next day. In circumstances of extended absences (more then 3 days) we will request a medical certificate be provided.

Do I have to pay for sick leave?

  No you do not pay for any sick leave. If your Half Price Staffer needs to take sick leave for any amount of time, you will be refunded in full for the time not worked. You will be paid any refund owing at the end of the month. The money will be deposited directly into your nominated bank account.

How many days off or holidays does my Half Price Staffer receive?

  Your Staffer will take their holiday leave on Australian Public holidays to co-incide with your business. There are also another few days which are local Philippine holidays which your Staffer will not work.  All days to be taken as holidays will be included in your agreement.

Beyond those days listed in the contract we work on a No Work - No Charge basis. That means if for any reason (including sick leave or other reason) your Half Price Staffer does not complete the agreed hours on a day, you will be refunded payment for that time not completed. Any refund is made at the end of the month as a direct deposit back into your bank account.

How many hours a week will my Half Price Staffer work for me?

  Half Price Staff work 40 hours per week for you. Their work hours are generally set to reflect your opening hours, usually around 8am - 5.30pm. If you need your Half Price Staffer to work Saturdays, this can often be arranged simply by agreeing to different hours during the week. As your Staffer works set hours, we need to know at the start, while we are selecting possible candidates, that you want Saturdays included. This is because some of our staff can work Saturdays and some can not. Sunday is the day off for your Half Price Staffer.

What if I am not happy with my Half Price Staffer?

  You have a 3 month replacement guarantee. If you are not happy we will replace your Staffer with another Half Price Staffer of your choosing, free of charge.

How do I end my agreement with Half Price Staff?

  If you wish to end your agreement within the first 3 months for any reason, you simply give us 24 hours notice that you would like to terminate the agreement. If you would like to terminate your agreement after 3 months has passed, 2 weeks notice is required. In both cases any time that was not worked during the month or falls after the notice period will be refunded in full at the end of the month.

We don't believe in heavy, long term tie in service contracts with our customers. Business is an ever changing environment, businesses grow, get taken over, close down, get sold, change direction and so much more. Our goal is to make your business easier and more profitable. Of course we would hate to see you go, but we certainly don't want you to be tied in and paying for something you no longer want or need. You will find this quite different to many other 'service contracts' such as for website memberships, data services, equipment rentals, software access and so much more.

We want to be a solution for you, not a problem. This is the reason we offer our customers a simple, fast and low cost process to end an agreement with us. We hope you like it.

Do I get to interview before I choose my staff?

  Yes, of course you do. We will offer you candidates whom we think will fit your needs, you then get to interview them and choose the successful candidate, just as you have done when choosing an office based staff member.

Can I have my Staffer complete formal training?

  Yes, If the training can be offered by correspondence or online or some other such delivery method, then yes, you can put your staffer through specific training that you deem relevant.
